The Athabasca Basin currently accounts for 15.5% of annual uranium production. Even more interesting, is the grade of these deposits. 10 of the 15 highest grade uranium deposits in the world are found in the region. Further, Athabasca deposits such as Phoenix, McArthur River, and Cigar Lake range from 15 to 20% uranium – several times the grade of their nearest competition outside of the Basin.
